Really, doesn’t cliched music from the 1960s make every UFO sighting more believable? The bright green lettering, helpfully explaining the blob you’re seeing, enhances the realism too.

“This website is about pictures that DO NOT make sense!  I love images that don’t make sense and YOU SHOULD TOO!  Can you even understand how awesome it is when you see a yeti serving in the armed forces?”

With thanks to Kyle for pointing it out!

Here are a couple of items to lighten (?) the mood, both via Phantoms & Monsters:

Ghostbanisters

“A schoolboy has captured eerie footage of what he claims is a ghost striding towards banisters at his home.” (Feb 12, 2009)

Ahh, Patrick Stewart in Shakespearean mode.

“The segment centered around a legendary ‘lost’ routine by the comedian Bill Hicks from the early days of the Late Show in 1993. Its legend comes not from viewers’ memories of it, but because no one got to see it (this was a time before all video made its way onto the Internet within hours). As Letterman explained on Friday, he deemed the routine not suitable to air, for reasons he seems at a loss to explain.”

Noticed at Phantoms and Monsters.

My favorite is the moray eel, with its “Alien” style pharyngeal jaws.

Thundercats live action trailer using Hollywood actors Brad Pitt, Vin Diesel and Hugh Jackman among others. All the effects were done frame by frame in Photoshop. The footage was edited in Adobe Premiere.

The most awesome aspect of this, to me, is that this movie doesn’t exist. Plus, it’s fun to try identifying the original sources for the different images. Oh, and the casting is spot-on.

Okay, I know this largely duplicates a portion of The Mary’s previous post, but Wonkette gives me the LOLZ, and everyone should share the joy of “alcohol and pills and the marijuana,” courtesy of the baby Jeebus.

I’ve been tuning into this one for a few years now. If you do nothing else, look under “About NORAD” for the “Why We Track Santa” story.

I could categorize this a dozen ways, but the mere thought of doing an exhaustive list…well, it exhausts me. If any of my compatriots want to add to the ones I’ve marked, or suggest ones that should really be included, let it be so.
